In the course of design engineering, all necessary information resources are applied:
- up-to-date software packages;
- geoinformation systems, data from Earth remote probing;
- own software developed by KGCM’s experts;
- information on cutting-edge technologies and equipment, contemporary construction materials (cooperation with research institutes, companies, Internet); - scientific & technical and periodic publications, regulatory documents (republican, interstate, international) in all areas of multi-type activities of the institute. Research library collection comprises over 200 thousands of books. Electronic editions are widely used;
- design and estimate documentation (DED) of the institute is used as baseline data when developing projects for expanding and upgrading of companies. Technical archive contains over 160 thousands of DED inventory items. The following are created and continuously expanding: electronic archive, electronic database of equipment.

Bentley «Promis.e» - is designed for engineering of industrial control systems and includes development of electrical diagrams, wiring lists, wiring board arrangement, drawing up of specifications, etc.

Autodesk Revit MEP – for designing of MEP-systems of buildings: arrangement of equipment, pipelines and utility lines.
Autodesk Inventor – for development of non-standard equipment. Creation of digital models of parts and articles in 3D.
